As one of the primary gateways into the city of Richmond from Interstates 95 and 64, the Boulevard is a prominent commercial corridor surrounding by thriving neighborhoods and major tourism destinations. Locals and visitors alike travel along the Boulevard to watch a Flying Squirrels ball game at the Diamond, catch a movie at the cleverly re-imagined Bow Tie Cinemas, or experience some of Virginia's finest museums. These activities keep an impressive flow of traffic moving through the area, with a daily traffic count of over 23,000.

Hub of Entertainment & Sports Venues

The Boulevard is home to the Richmond Flying Squirrels Baseball Team at The Diamond, Bow Tie Theater and Sportsbackers Stadium. The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, The Virginia Historical Society, The Virginia Science Museum, Richmond Children’s Museum, and a variety of unique shops and restaurants, make the Boulevard Gateway a vibrant and vital part of Richmond’s culture and arts scene.

Redevelopment of Prime Boulevard Property Underway

The City is currently working on preparing 60+ of prime city-owned property along the Boulevard for redevelopment. Currently the City is tearing down Public Utilities faclities on the site in preparion for redevelopment efforts.

Specialized Advanced Manufacturing Hub

Located just steps away from interstates 95 and 64, the Boulevard and the adjacent Scotts Addition neighborhood have historically been a specialized advanced manufacturing center, and today attracts creative companies such as Moseley Architects, Light Tape, and numerous craft breweries. 

Gateway to Renowned Museums and Restaurants

Along and near the Boulevard are some of the premier museums such as the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, the Richmond Children's Museum, the Science Museum of Virginia and the Virginia Historical Society. Restaurants include Buz & Ned's, Fat Dragon, Starbucks, En Su Boca and newcomer Growlers To Go.
